What to do with Kids in White Mountain Lake

Wondering what to do with your kids here in White Mountain Lake? Sure, we’re a teeny tiny town, but there are some things you can do with your kids without traveling to the next town or two.

Fishing at White Mountain Lake

If you have lake rights, you can visit White Mountain Lake any time for free. There are 2 boat docks and one fishing dock. The lake is stocked with fish, so there’s fish to catch in there!

Because this is a private lake, you do not

Swimming at the Lake

Also at White Mountain Lake is a little beach and swimming cove. The cove is for swimming only… no boats, kayaks (or the like) or fishing is allowed there. There are several covered picnic tables, too.

Hints to homeschoolers: Pack up some schooling materials and head to the lake for the day. Take some collection jars, too and see what you can find to examine.

Have Fun on the Lake

Also at White Mountain Lake, you can have fun on the lake. Bring your boat, kayak, paddle boat, or canoes. If you don’t have one, the lake office provides kayak rentals.

Playground at Carr Circle

Over on Carr Circle (off Cox Drive) is a playground for the little kids and a basketball court for kids of all ages.

Be forewarned that there is no bathroom facility, so plan for that.

Explore Silver Creek

Silver Creek is owned by the Irrigation District and available for all of us to wander up and down it. You can even fish in it. There is a small parking area and walkway down to the creek over off of Snyder Circle (also off Cox Circle).

You do not need lake rights to access Silver Creek.

The Hatchery

Silver Creek Fish Hatchery is a very short drive over to Bourdon Ranch Rd and is just south of Silver Creek (the road and the creek.) There is a big swath of land you can play on next to Silver Creek. Fish, picnic, hike, photograph, etc.

Follow the link above to find out a lot more about the hatchery.

Drag Races

On the last Saturday of each month, you can watch drag racing! It’s held at the Air Park (airport). Current starting time is 10am.

In addition to drag racing, there are several vendors with tables and their wares.

Parking is limited (at the time of this writing, though it’s being worked on) so carpool if you are able.

Golf

Silver Creek Golf Course is 100 acres and 18 holes of beautiful golfing experience!

After golfing, have a bite to eat at Sandbagger’s and visit the Pro Shop.
